Val Blundell

I was born in Crewe where all my family were involved in the railways, in one way or another. My grandfather was a steam engine driver. All my working life has been in education. Along the way I have taught all the age ranges from playgroup to university students. My greatest love was the Access course.

When introducing myself I used to say ‘I am not an artist’ but relatively recently I have realised that is not true. We are all made in the image of God and therefore we are, by our very nature, creative.

This does not mean that I have to be the same kind of artist as John! To be honest, I find picking up a paintbrush quite scary.

I do enjoy playing with Brusho inks, mainly because you cannot predict how it will turn out. Of late, though, I have been enjoying making collages. (Waitrose magazines are a marvellous resource for these.)

Whatever is true, whatever is honourable,  whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things...
